The Sierra Vista Police Department is headed by Chief of Police Chris Hiser, who reports to the city manager. Below the chief is Deputy Chief Lawrence "Butch" Boutte.

The agency is organized into two components: the Administrative Services Division, headed by Commander Armin Lewis, and the Police Division, headed by Commander Sean Brownson. The Administrative Division oversees training, animal control, records, recruitment, accreditation, and evidence. The Police Division includes patrol, specialty assignments, special operations, SROs, PIO, volunteers, reserve officers, and field training.

There are currently 68 sworn officers and 23 civilian department members (as of March 2024).
