The Henry F. Hauser Museum has re-opened after an 11-month remodel with a new look, new exhibits, and a new Kid’s Discovery Room!

The museum received several updates including new flooring, lighting, and paint, and construction even included the demolition of multiple walls to expand exhibit space. It now features a semi-permanent exhibit about Sierra Vista, a temporary exhibit space, and a children’s area.

 Sierra Vista Through the Ages

The main exhibit is Sierra Vista Through the Ages, which invites visitors to explore the Sierra Vista area’s natural and cultural history from prehistoric times through the present. See early fossils, indigenous artifacts, and items from the settlement of Sierra Vista and beyond—including the World’s First McDonald’s Drive-Thru Window!  You’ll also be able to explore even more of Sierra Vista’s history at a new kiosk featuring an interactive map highlighting historic places.

 Totally Tubular—Toys from the 80s

This temporary exhibit invites people to revisit their childhood with iconic toys from the 80s! This nostalgic experience is tailored to those who grew up in the 80s, but fun for people of all ages, including kids. It even features some hands-on toys, like an NES Classic Mini.

The Children’s Discovery Room invites kids of all ages to explore our history through hands-on play. The interactive exhibit includes an immersive play area themed after the old Fry Post Office & Grocery Store, a sand table for fossil digs, two touchscreen kiosks, puzzles, toys, and more!

Come explore all the exciting things we have in store! The museum is free and open to the public.

The remodel was made possible thanks to a generous donation from the Sierra Vista Historical Society and a Tohono O’odham Nation 12% Distribution Grant.
