Plans must be submitted as a complete set in a single PDF file. We must be able to edit plans, so please make sure all security is turned off and there are no passwords on the file. Do not flatten plans. Any individual documents submitted will not be accepted as part of your submittal if they are not part of a complete set of plans. If you have a large-format plan set, please email the planning department for a link to a cloud folder to upload your plans.

Local building codes and amendments will help guide your process. Commercial developers should review the commercial submittal requirements.

Download and complete the application from the list below, then bring it to the Community Development Department in City Hall, 1011 N. Coronado Drive, or mail / email it to our staff.

Online Application

While online browser-based applications are anticipated to be available to the general public soon, the current online application portal is recommended only for frequent permit application submitters (multiple applications per month). Apply online using the Sierra Vista Self-Service site. Please do not upload any documents during the online application process. These must be emailed separately.

Schedule an Inspection

Call (520) 417-4413 to schedule an inspection or submit your request online.

Whether you request an inspection online or by phone, the inspection request must be received by 5:00 p.m. the day prior to inspection. Any after-hours messages will not be scheduled for the next business day. Inspections are scheduled between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Sorry, no same-day inspections.

If you would like to set up a free courtesy inspection with one of our building officials, please fill out a Courtesy Inspection form.
