Water Conservation

Join the friends of the Huachuca Mountains on Saturday, August 5 at 9:00 a.m.  Water, water, everywhere, but not a drop to drink. Such was the lament of the sailor adrift in the Pacific Ocean in the poem Rime of the Ancient Mariner. At the rate things are going in the deserts of the Southwest, the lament may soon become no water anywhere, and no drops to drink. As the planet gets hotter, with more areas around the world suffering life-threatening droughts and more and more water being pumped from underground aquifers, including that underlying the San Pedro River Valley, learning to conserve our precious water resources is vital. Trevor Lauber, with the University of Arizona's Cooperative Education WaterWise program, will help us learn tips and tricks we can all use to reduce our water use. Every drop counts!!
